This is me
The most important journey you will take in your life will usually be the one of self-transformation. Often, this is the scariest because it requires the greatest changes in your life.
I am a strong believer that anything is possible if you really put your mind to it. All goals, no matter how big or small, start with taking that first step. I love helping clients overcome preconceived notions of what they can and cannot do ... small changes over time, lead to big accomplishments that can last a lifetime.
My own journey...
Fitness has always been a big part of my life. I played various sports throughout my childhood & adolescents, and went on to play D1 soccer in college. I always assumed that I would work with athletes, because that's what I always identified myself as. However, life has a funny way of leading you to exactly where you're supposed to be.
Through my adolescents and early 20's, I struggled with disordered eating which completely ran my life at times. When I reached my lowest point, I realized I needed to do something. That's when I changed college majors to Exercise Science and Health Promotion and learned everything I could at the time about nutrition and exercise. Slowly I dug myself out of my "dark hole" as I like to call it.
After college I became a Certified Personal Trainer, and that's when I realized that I could really impact people's lives in a positive way.
I tell clients all the time that "I get it", because I really do. I've been there, and I know what it feels like to feel uncomfortable in your own skin. When I think back on my own struggles with food, body image, and lack of confidence, I can remember how those negative thoughts had the ability to completely take over. However, I wouldn't change my experiences for anything, because having had those struggles has enabled me to connect better & become a more understanding & compassionate coach. Fast forward a few years, and I've gotten to a healthy & happy place where I eat to fuel my body, and exercise because it makes me feel great. I'm also a wife & proud mom to two pretty awesome kiddos, so leading a healthy lifestyle is more important to me now than ever.
After working in the fitness industry for almost 10 years, I became more and more intrigued about the impact that nutrition and lifestyle has on our overall health. As a trainer I was constantly hearing the same pattern of frustrations with diets, body image, and just overall confusion from conflicting dietary advice. I became certified as a Nutrition Coach so that I could help people achieve their health goals through conversation, knowledge, and a step-by-step approach. My life experiences have allowed me to become a better coach to my clients, and my hope for everyone I work with is that they can get to a place in their lives where they feel great in body & mind. If I can do it, you can too!

Everyone's goals are unique, and therefore there is no "one size fits all" approach. I have experience training a wide variety of individuals, but specialize in helping people with weight loss, and increasing quality of life through exercise and nutrition. I don't believe in the "no pain no gain" mentality, but rather insuring that we start at the appropriate level and integrate the most adequate training modalities to help you reach your goals. I love to set goals, and believe that the key to success is consistency; if you commit to a solid plan and progress in the right way, I promise you'll be amazed at what you can achieve. |
One Day, or Day One. You Decide.
